Android Development Internship
Habi is a habit tracker with a built-in focus timer and screen time limits. Today it runs only on iPhone. We want to change that, and this internship puts you at the start of Habi's first native Android build.
What you'll do
- Help build Habi for Android in Kotlin, with Jetpack Compose for UI
- Translate existing features like habit tracking and the focus timer into their Android versions
- Explore Android equivalents for platform features such as screen time limits
- Help set up the foundations: project structure, testing, and a release pipeline
What we're looking for
- Some experience with Kotlin and Android development, ideally Jetpack Compose
- Something we can look at: a GitHub profile, a Play Store listing, or a course project
- Comfort with open questions. An early build means decisions, not a ticket queue.
- Clear written communication, since we work remotely
What you will gain
- The rare chance to say you helped start an app's Android build from day one
- Experience standing up a production Kotlin and Jetpack Compose project
- Sharper Kotlin through direct code review from the team
- Daily practice with AI-assisted development tools like Claude and Codex
- A reference from the team when you complete the internship
What you get
- Fully remote. Work from anywhere, on a schedule that works for you.
- Your dev tools, paid for. We cover the tools you work with, like Claude, Codex, and Figma.
- Real shipped work. Your code goes to real users, not a sandbox project.
- Mentorship. Direct code review and guidance from the team building Habi.
